This is a tutorial to restore Seagate hard drives with BSY error (unrecognized in BIOs) and LBA=0 to normal function. This DOES NOT format your drive. All files will be accessible. No Response in Hyperterminal: GND cable is either loose/detached or connected to the wrong pin. Garbage letters, symbols: Wires are probably in contact with another (you can put a piece of paper or newspaper in between the pins to prevent them from touching. Also, check for loose wires! Arrow instead F3 T prompt: Switch RX/TX wires on the hard drive. Close Hyperterminal and create a new session again
